Spill Response Training

A 90-minute non-accredited course delivered by Capital Construction Training for construction site workers. Covers the five-step spill response (Stop, Assess, Contain, Clean Up, Report), selecting and using the right spill kit, and when to escalate to a supervisor or emergency services.

Who this course is for
Anyone working on a construction site who could encounter fuels, oils, hydraulic fluid, concrete slurry, or chemical spills — plant operators, labourers, storepersons, leading hands, and site supervisors. Suitable as a toolbox-style session for any tier of construction site.

What you’ll learn

  • What counts as a spill, and how to spot and prevent one before it happens
  • The five-step response sequence — Stop, Assess, Contain, Clean Up, Report
  • Spill kit types (General Purpose, Oil & Fuel, Hazchem), their contents, and correct technique
  • PPE and SDS basics, and when to stop and escalate to a supervisor or emergency services
  • Reporting, waste segregation/disposal, and restocking a spill kit
